I want to thank the Southern Counties Staffordshire Bull Terrier Society committee and members for inviting me to judge dogs at the 2022 Championship Show. Thank you so much for all your hospitality. I would not have been able to make the day happen without my ring stewards. Thank you, Kevin Papworth and Debby Yarham for keeping me on track, keeping the ring organized and everything running smooth. I want to also thank all the exhibitors that came from far and wide for the fabulous entry of dogs. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and I was honoured to examine so many lovely dogs.

Minor Puppy Dog: 4,1abs

1st. Mr & Mrs Durell "HAMASON GREATEST SHOWMAN". See Above.

2nd. Mr & Mrs Page "ELITEBULL MISCHIEF AT BELLASTAFF". Lovely 6 - month old black brindle pup with nice head shape, dark eyes and rose ears. His body has good proportions for a puppy of this age with nicely angulated rear. Moved nicely and responded well to his handler. Pup has a nice future ahead of him.

Puppy Dog: 3,1abs

1st. Mr & Mrs Hinsley "EARTHQUAKES STAFFS WEAR IT WELL AT TIGERBULL (IMP ESP)  Good looking and well balanced 12-month-old white and red pied with dark round eyes and fabulous dark pigment including dark eye trim. Well- proportioned head with distinct stop, clean lips, strong underjaw, pronounced cheek bumps, correct scissor bite and rose ears. Short neck into laid back shoulder with straight well boned front. Level topline with nicely angulated rear and well let down hocks. Moved and handled well. Awarded Reserve Best Puppy

2nd. Mr T Lowe & Miss R Kaur-Hayre "BIG MAN ON MAC DUI". 11-month-old red dog with white chest and white feet. Lovely head with good proportions, clean lips, correct bite, dark eyes and rose ears. Short neck with straight front with good spring of rib and level top line. Well angulated rear. Moved and handled nicely.

Junior Dog: 16, 3abs

1st. Mr, Mrs & Miss Wilson "NORTHSTAFF NIGHTMARE JW". Black brindle and white standard sized and nicely balanced dog. Strong head with correct proportions, dark eyes with keen expression and tidy rose ears. Large teeth with correct scissor bite. Good shoulder angles into well boned front with strong pasterns and well-padded feet. Short coupled with well angulated muscular rear. Shown in tip top condition. Moves well and handled expertly.

2nd. Mr & Mrs Reynolds "NIATONA WRECK IT RALPH". Flashy Red and white dog with very nice head and dark pigment. Clean lips with strong underjaw and correct bite. Well set rose ears, and round eyes give him a nice expression. Short neck flowing into well placed shoulders with straight front. Level topline held on the move with good tail set and correct rear. Handled very nicely

Yearling Dog: 7, 1abs

1st. Miss K Couzens & Mr R Coombes "NIATONA ARLO COOMBES". Standard size red and white with lots of flash. Lovely head of good proportion, correct bite with dark eyes and lots of expression, dark pigment, nice big open nares, and tidy rose ears. Correct length of neck flowing into laid back shoulder with good spring of rib. Straight front with tidy feet and level topline held on the move. Good tail set and well-muscled rear. Handled very well. Did not know at the time that I had awarded one of this dog’s offspring many honors today including BP and BPIS

2nd. Mr G Harwood "MARSTAFF THE REVENANT". Top sized nicely balanced red dog with white marking and lots great virtues. Strong head with good pigment, dark round eyes, cleaned lipped with strong underjaw, and correct scissors bite. Well placed rose ears. Muscular neck into well boned straight front with strong pasterns and well-padded feet. Deep brisket with well sprung rib and level topline. Powerful rear and correct tail set. Moved and handled very well.

2nd. Mr L Kruger "POWERPACK SEVERUS SNAPE". Black brindle with lovely expression, good head proportions and correctly placed rose ears. Cleaned lips with strong under jaw and distinct stop. Short neck into straight front with good feet. Compact body with good rear angles and correct tail set.

Graduate Dog: 7, 1 ab

1st. Miss G Kirk "KIRSTAFF THE FIRST AVENGER". Well balanced red dog with white spot on chest and clean outline. Strong head with dark eyes, dark pigment and rose ears. Good length of muzzle with muscular cheek bumps, strong under jaw, clean lips and good bite. Neck flowing into straight front with deep brisket and well sprung rib. Correct rear angels and good tail set. Moved well and presented nicely

2nd. Raynsford & Stevens "RAYNSTAFF OLD FASHIONED".  Black brindle with white chest. Nice head and good expression, with clean muzzle, dark eyes, rose ears and correct bite. Straight well boned front with deep brisket. Compact body with well sprung rib and level topline held on the move.

3rd.  Mr Mayers "MAYNESTAFF SMOOTH CRIMINAL".

Post Graduate Dog: 7, 2 abs

1st. Mr J & Mrs S Hammond "HAMMYSTAFF RED REVENGE JW". Deep red dog with white markings and dark mask. Correctly proportioned head with clean lips and dark round eyes showing lots of expression and no exaggeration. Good shoulder angles into straight front with tight feet. Well sprung rib with level topline, good rear angles with well let down hocks. Handled very well. This dog has a real zest for life and did not stop smiling the whole time he was in the ring.

2nd. Mr F, Mrs I & Miss C Gough "MANARK MADE TO MEASURE". Red dog with white chest. Correctly proportioned head, dark round eyes and neat rose ears. Cleaned lips with correct scissor bite. Good shoulder angulation with deep brisket and well sprung rib, level topline with strong well-muscled rear.

3rd. Mr B Devlin "TIGHTLINES DUSTYS TRAIL".

1st. Mr S & Mrs R James "LUTHAIS LOCH NESS". Balanced black brindle dog with nice head shape, well placed dark eyes and rose ears giving him a very pleasing expression. Good shoulder placement into straight front with good width of brisket and good spring of rib. Level topline with well angulated muscled rear and good tail set. Moved well and handled very nicely by his young handler.

2nd. Mr J & Mrs S Parker "JACKABYTE BOLETORO AT NETTLEWORTH". Standard sized black brindle with lots of breed type. Lovely head of good proportion with dark round eyes, well set rose ears, clean lips and strong underjaw. Strong neck into straight front with well padded feet. Moved nicely and handled well

It was an honour and a delight to judge bitches at this well supported show for a club I have been involved with on and off for the past forty odd years. My thanks to my most proficient stewards Kim and Natalie who surpassed all expectations throughout the day, also to the sporting exhibitors who came despite the foul weather.

2nd.Sandford Mr&Mrs. FAIRLENIUM IRON QUEEN wh/br pi. Nicely balanced strong yet feminine bitch, good skull, tight lips and clean bite, strong neck well laid shoulder, excellent topline moved well just preferred the feet of first.

1st.Campbell Mr&Mrs. FOYLLFORSDAL AN DUI RE br/wh. Well made bitch, very sound structure, with nice skull, dark eye, well carried ears, good dentition pleasing expression, lovely wide front with sufficient lift, good depth of brisket, topline level, beautiful balanced movement.

2nd.Windsor-Smith Mrs N. REMSTAFF AFTERGLOW r/wh. Ultra fit bitch with a strong head, good bite, very square with a nice forechest, well sprung rib, short couplings, well let down at hock, unused to being shown indoors and this disturbed her movement today, preferred the pigmentation of first..

Only a year old this beautiful top size bitch with clean lines is so well put together good mouth with deep jaw, adequate width, straight front a topline you could do the ironing on sound rear end theres no sloping away here, a promising youngster.

2nd.Levy Ms S. FAIRLENIUM PIXIE QUEEN AT SHARBELLE wh/br pi. I just love her movement it bears out her good contruction, compact body level topline, well balanced with a lovely headdark eye and everything in the right place although a different sort from first.
